-I agree with the cardigans and leather jackets (those are always a must)
-And i also agree with distressed jeans
-Opaque tights (Opaque! Not sheer. These are still in for this fall, wear them when you want to wear a dress, skirt or shorts)
-Pops of neon colors (try to pair a shirt that is neon, or with a neon color with a neutral cardigan, leather jacket, or blazer. You can do anything as long as you pair a neon item with neutrals)
-Super high platforms
-Over the knee boots (those will look cute paired with the Opaque tights)
-Military jacket (only need 1)
-And confidence is always the best fashion accessory!

I had some time over Christmas break to do a little bit of reading when I wasn't watching "Dora" or the "Backyardigans" with my little girl. I have to admit that I have been swamped with book reviews and dvd reviews so I finally caught up on the break.

I was sent a book named "Destination Basketball" and it isn't a basketball coaching book, but just a book for college basketball fans. It was a really interesting read and I couldn't put it down. It is about two college student who on a shoe-string budget decided to meet 29 of the best basketball coaches in the country. It took 23 road trips, 421 days, 1,134 phone calls, 2,314 emails, 27, 125 miles driven to compile this book.

Here is why I wasn't a basketball coach and just a college basketball fan that I would want to read this book. The concept was to not ask about a single play, player, game or season, but their methods, their influences, their experiences, and their time within basketball. I love reading books on coaches whether it is basketball or football. I couldn't put this book down, because it was really funny to see how Andew Hemminger and Dave Bensch went on this path to talk with the best 29 basketball coaches in america. They spoke to all 29 basketball coaches in person and there were no interviews given on the phone, letters, emails, or faxes. In these times, where college basketball coaches have non-stop schedules that is amazing.

They took pictures of themselves with each coach except for Jamie Dixon. They forgot the camera and the SID department sent them a picture. Each interview gives background on the basketball coach and then they go through a series of questions. They didn't use the same questions on each coach. I thought that it was a tremendous idea and wish that I could have went on the trips. The book reads like you are on the trip.

One of the interviews was John Chaney, formerly of Temple University and he said this of the interview. "It is more of a human kind of interview where the question touches you a little bit more, and it gives you a relaxing feeling when you are able to talk about some of your experiences".

I can't say enough on how I thought that Andrew and Dave did a tremendous job on their book and I really appeciate them sending me a copy to read. I would give this book a 5 out of 5 stars. It is a tremendous book for college basketball fans who want some insight on 29 of the best basketball coaches in the country.

invited into his home, he also let us know that his wife was in the
back bedroom with a .38 revolver under her pillow just in case.
We think he was kidding, but we weren’t completely certain at that

Coach Keady was the exact opposite, nothing short of extremely
kind for the entire two-hour conversation.

Izzo: I am not sure that I want to be patient because
I have a small window with my players. I have at most four years
with them, and a lot of times it determines the girl they marry and
the life they will live, by what you do in college and the image you
portray, and that is all in that little window. I always hear about
having patience, but patience is something I don’t know if I want
to have, I would rather have understanding. Everybody is going to
move at a different speed. But the venue I am in, with how long
you get to graduate, how long you get to become an NBA player,
how long you get to win a national championship, how long you
get to set your footprint in the sand here, that doesn’t have any
patience, so how can I?

"This past year, we sold out of our best-selling WaveRunners [personal watercrafts] before the July 4 weekend and our most affordable WaveRunner, the VX110, was nearly sold out in June," Seti said. "It's harder for consumers to find a deal when supply is that low."

Seti says that buying a boat or personal watercraft at a winter boat show will guarantee that you find the boat you want because dealers are motivated to sell.

"Our dealers are receiving their 2006 orders now and those units take up a lot of space at the dealership," said Seti. "Dealers tend to get motivated when they see a crowded sales floor."

* Plan your attack. Research boats and personal watercrafts before the show and map out the exhibits you want to visit. By preparing in advance, there's less chance of being distracted.

fall fashions? back to school looks?

i know its a little early, but what would be a good back to school outfit/ what are the must haves for this school year as far as clothes/ shoes go. i have 4 pairs of skinny jeans if that helps. pictures would be great.

Definitely think about visiting Forever 21 because they have a bunch of great tank tops and some of them are really cheap (under $3). I would definitely go for the layering look, with a couple of tank tops underneath a shirt.

I also go to Gap. They have a lot of preppy clothes that are nice looking. I'm in high school and I wear a lot of their clothes.

For shoes, I would suggest visiting Target. They have a great variety and if you're into sneakers they have the Champion kind in all sorts of fun colors. They also have great ballet flats.

If you can survive with not wearing graphic/screen tees, definitely go for it. My policy is to wear only basic shirts or shirts with no logo. Sometimes I make small exceptions. I usually don't wear shirts with any phrases, except for ones that promote environmentalism.

Invest in a couple of accessories and you'll be able to mix and match with what you have already, which will be good and add a bit of style to your clothes.

A good look for a back-to-school outfit in my opinion would be a shirt with a nice interesting print with a layered tank under it, with either denim bermudas or jeans. Incorporate either waves into your hair, or do a nice sleek look, paired with flats or Converse would be awesome. Maybe have a headband in your hair, and a cute nail polish.

For getting a nice shirt with an interesting print, I've gotten a few at Gap. They're very nice looking and if you look in the clearance section they'll be quite cheap. A layered tank can either be picked up at Gap or Forever 21 (Forever 21 is having a sale and they're like $2.50-check their website!). Denim bermudas/jeans can either be found at Gap or at Ross(Ross has some amazing deals, you should check it out if you don't go there already). Flats are easily found at Target for cheap prices & Converse can also be gotten there, but not the All-Star kind.

If you want nail polish, I suggest visiting your local supermarket because they usually have a wide selection.

A longish blouse or top that has an empire waist, but flares below to a full hemline is another plus for you. Pick one such blouse, sheer, or lacy or made of a velvet or silk. Either way, if it is flowy and full in the right places, you'll look more feminine in it.

3. Get one of the black lace dresses that are so hot this season. The black widow look is big this season, thanks in part to Prada. Pick a black lace dress with full sleeves, with wide hemlines at the end of each sleeve. Get it in floaty lace, with an empire waist of course. A full hemline for the skirt wouldn't hurt either. Make that your de facto little black dress.

4. Load up on the accessories. Wear earrings to draw attention to your pretty face. Wear bangles to bring the eye to your arms instead of your waist. Wear stunning shoes. A pretty pair of high heel shoes, or gorgeous boots that would draw attention to your legs. Carry a beautiful handbag by day and a jewelled clutch for the evening. Dress your hair with gorgeous accessories to draw attention to your luscious locks instead.

5. Get on of this season's pretty belts and use that to cinch your dresses and jackets at the narrowest part of your ribcage. Thick or thin, it doesn't matter. Use the belt to turn any dress into an empire waist dress that makes you look feminine and shapely.

4) “Grace brings contentment”

I’m not sure what this one means. I think they just chose three English words out of a hat and put them together and this is what they came up with. Although it does ask some deep questions, like what is “grace”? How does one achieve “grace”? Am I supposed to be giving grace away or am I suppose to have it for myself? Also, I am confused by the word choice of “contentment”; it’s not exactly something people strive for, like, “Hey Bobby, how was your weekend?” “Hey Bill, can’t complain, I felt very content.” Nobody wants to be content, they want extremes. They want to feel “amazing” or “awesome” or “amazingly awesome” not just “content.” Hell, I’d rather feel terrible than feel “content” because at least I can understand terrible—at least I can put my finger on it. “Content” does nothing for me. “Content” is garbage. Hey, tea company your confusing tea bag label is now making me far, far less content than I was before I read it. Thanks for ruining my day.

3) “In order to be remembered, leave nothing behind but goodness”

Now this is just silly. Who do they think they are talking to? Mother Theresa? Nelson Mandela? Beyonce Knowles? I am not perfect, actually, far from it. I think we all are (except for those three previously listed). How do I leave behind only goodness? To do that I would have to give up everything I own and become a peace worker or something and anyone who knows me will tell you I can’t live without my Xbox 360, so that’s definitely out of the question. Maybe there is a loophole. Maybe I can be remembered for being good but not really be good. Like, maybe I could pay someone to tell people how great I am or write a book about me when I die. That could work, but then I would probably need to have a lot of money. I mean, the book has to be good, like “Twilight” good, and Stephenie Meyer doesn’t come cheap. Another idea I just had was if I sold everything but my Xbox 360 and a TV and moved into a cave with an electrical outlet and spent my days playing video games and visiting with strangers who I would then pause my game, approach at the mouth of the cave, and pay a compliment— that way people will remember me as that really good guy who gave away free compliments and lived an almost perfectly ascetic lifestyle and I still get to keep my Xbox 360.

2) “Whatever you are, you are. Be proud of it.”

I can live with this one. Frankly, I might even get this tattooed on my body somewhere. Maybe my neck or my arm, like going in a circle around my bicep or something, that would be pretty cool. This one makes me feel really good about myself probably in the same way people feel when the first come out of the closet—like, here I am world! I am me and you can’t do anything about it! Now that I think about it, this is some really revolutionary stuff. I mean, what if everyone lived according to this wisdom, not worrying about what people think about them and just coasting along in life living according to their means and being proud of their family even if their dad is a raging alcoholic and their mother keeps reminding them how they need to “get their act together” and “could you please turn down the music in the basement, we’re trying to sleep, it’s not like you even pay rent to live at our house you loser.” You know what I mean?

1) “Don’t take pride in taking. Give and you will be given virtues.”

I like to think I’m a pretty giving guy. I once gave this guy holding up a sign that said “Down on my luck. Could use anything you have to offer” at the offramp to 94W a cigarette and he seemed much obliged. I fact, I wish I knew all that I know now thanks to these tea bag wisdom phrases back then so I could give him a couple of these wise phrases, maybe they could have changed his life. If I’ve learned anything it’s that your luck can change at any moment. Like this one time I bought one of those paintball gun packages to save some money and the guy at the counter said that when I but a package of ten, I can get two free games. I was only planning on buying a package of five, but then I thought, wow, that’s a good deal, so I went with the package of ten (which was essentially a package of twelve for the price of ten).That was pretty awesome.
